Our obsession with figs isn’t new. But, this plum and fig chutney mixes bright citrus, deep spices, and subtle sweetness to make for one of the best additions to your holiday spread. With multiple layers of depth and flavor, this holiday appetizer will delight your guests with the perfect balance of new and unexpected flavors. Erin from Brownie Bites is the lady behind this dippable delight. She was able to capture the natural sweetness from both of the fruits and balance that with brightness, earthiness, and pure deliciousness of the ingredients for a great holiday appetizer. While the flavor is rich and deep, the dip itself is held in contrast to other appetizers normally found in your holiday spread. Fruity and bright with just enough sweetness, it’ll give you a break from butter-heavy cookies and molten, decadent cheese courses. The delight isn’t over: a nice smear of lightly whipped cream cheese is brought to life with bold and earthy cardamom. You might recognize the flavor if you ever enjoy sipping on a chai tea. It’s one of the predominant spices in the mix, rounding out sweetness with beautiful aromatics. Looking to impress your friends and family? Serve them this. It’s way better.
